![[Milpacking]] During the [[Dipuk Marksmanship Course]] I learned the importance of light packing and taking only what is necessary for the military expedition. Every extra magazine of ammo can increase fatigue and cut down the optimal maximum travel distance by kilometers. [[Mountaineering]] also shares this mindset. I applied this very principle to my everyday carry bag by minimizing the weight and volume of it. The result is a very pleasing everyday experience. #### What I need *Phone*: A device for facilitating various forms of communication and information gathering. *Laptop*: Most of what I do involves a computer: note-taking, running code, et cetera. The OS in the phones and tablets don't allow for the versatility that computers have in terms of the ability to run things. *Charger and type C cable*: Since both the phone and the laptop require charging from time to time, it is good to carry a charger and a cable that can charge both. *Airpods*: A way to listen to audio in public places without disturbing proximal persons or leaking confidential information. *Bag*: For carrying the items #### What's the idea? I wanted to find the most size-to-utility EDC items out there and combine them to make it seamless to carry around them during the day. *Laptop*: 13" Macbook Air M5 32gb 1TB - perfect size-to-power ratio, battery life, and overall a beautiful computer. The 32gb unified memory will allow for local models to act as a natural computer interface as the AI field progresses. The processing power this laptop provides is unmatched when it comes to 13" laptops.  *Phone*: To be carried in the pocket (first echelon) for quick retrieval. *Bag*: Tomtoc makes bags tailored to the 13" Air, this allows for a perfect fit and no wasted volume/weight.  *Charger*: It needs to provide 35W+ To charge the Air, the phone will need around 20W only. GaN (Gallium Nitride). The thinnest charger I could find is the Vention 65W charger  *Airpods*: Its odd but the thickest iter in this list is the Airpods. Together this combination is powerful and makes my life a lot better. As you see I enjoy writing a lot, having this all be light and easy to carry anywhere is important to me. In fact, I wrote the first half of this article while sitting in traffic
