Many think God wanting to be praised by his people is too prideful. Upon meditating on this, I can conclude that requesting praise has a deeper purpose than simply Him feeling pride. Pridefulness wouldn’t be consistent with him, knowing what he did for us. Being crucified or washing the feet of the apostles are acts displaying character incompatible with pride. I propose an alternative perspective: the act of praising Him humbles us into theonomy, much like he words it in > “if my people, who are called by my name, will **humble** themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” > > ‭‭[2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV](https://bible.com/bible/111/2ch.7.14.NIV)‬‬ #theology
